Full offline on new construction
ServiceTitan answers the offline question directly: every feature of its field app works without a connection. FieldPulse says the app works uninterrupted without internet, though it doesn't spell out which screens.
Every field service platform has an electrician app. The question an electrician actually has is what it does in a basement with no bars, on a new build before the service is live, or in a mechanical room three floors down. Ten field apps compared on what their own pages say about working offline, and on the electrical features they put on the phone. Claims as the vendors' pages stated them on September 17 and 19, 2026.

Both describe the round trip. Workiz techs open job details and update them with no signal, and the changes sync once the connection is back. Service Fusion's offline mode switches on by itself when the signal drops: notes, photos and completed tasks sync when it returns.
Our pick
A feature page dedicated to offline mode that says exactly what survives a dead signal: saved work orders, the schedule and signatures. Invoicing and payments are described as working "when connectivity is available."
Our pick
Native iOS and Android apps with offline capability in the feature list, mobile access free on every plan by the vendor's own statement, tiered electrical estimates and a wire and component inventory on its electrician page, from $29.99 a month.
Search "electrician app" and half the results are code and math tools: NEC lookups, voltage drop, conduit bend offsets. Those are a separate purchase, usually a few dollars, and they don't run your business. This page is about the other half, the app your field platform puts on the tech's phone to take the job, price it, collect the signature and get paid. All ten platforms below have one; the question is whether it keeps working where you work.
What each vendor's app page or electrician page says. Not one of the nine electrician pages we could read mentions offline work at all; the answers below come from each vendor's general app page where one exists, and Kickserv and FieldEdge publish none. "Not claimed" means the vendor's pages don't state it, "Not readable" means the vendor's site blocked our reads.
| Platform | Works offline | In the vendor's words |
|---|---|---|
| ServiceTitan | Yes | "All its features are available in offline mode." |
| FieldPulse | Yes | "Work uninterrupted even without an internet connection." |
| Workiz | Yes, syncs later | Techs "access job details and update information" without signal; changes sync when it returns. |
| Service Fusion | Yes, syncs later | Techs "view jobs, access customer information, add and edit notes, upload photos, and complete job tasks while offline. Updates automatically sync once connection returns." |
| QuoteIQ | Claimed, not detailed | "Offline capability" listed among the native iOS and Android app features. |
| ServiceBox | Read saved work | "Offline capabilities focus on saved work orders, schedule information and signatures." |
| Housecall Pro | View only | Job and scheduling data "can be viewed without Wi-Fi or cell reception. Editing in offline mode is not supported at this time." |
| FieldEdge | Not claimed | No app page found; electrician page silent. |
| Kickserv | Not claimed | No app page found; electrician page silent. |
| Jobber | Not readable | App page rendered only partially under headless Chrome; electrician page returned 403. |
The word covers four different products. ServiceTitan claims the whole app: "the Field Mobile App and all its features are available in offline mode." That is the vendor's sentence, and it is the most absolute one in the set. Workiz and Service Fusion describe the round trip instead, which is what a basement job needs. Workiz: update the job with no signal, and "any changes made offline will automatically sync with the system once an internet connection is restored." Service Fusion: techs "view jobs, access customer information, add and edit notes, upload photos, and complete job tasks while offline," its offline mode "automatically activates when connection drops," and nothing has to be pre-loaded. ServiceBox is the only vendor with a feature page dedicated to offline mode, and it draws the line itself: saved work orders, the schedule and signatures work without signal, while customer context, documentation, time, invoicing and payments are described as available "when connectivity is available." Its own examples are "basements, mechanical rooms, rural sites."
Then there is Housecall Pro, whose app-page FAQ says job and scheduling data "can be viewed without Wi-Fi or cell reception," and then: "Editing in offline mode is not supported at this time." That is a vendor publishing a limit against its own interest, and it is more useful than most feature lists. The Housecall Pro vs Workiz comparison sets it against Workiz, which does sync offline edits. FieldPulse and QuoteIQ both claim offline capability without scoping it, which puts them somewhere between ServiceTitan and ServiceBox until you test it on a job. FieldEdge and Kickserv publish no app page and make no offline claim on the pages we could read, and Jobber's pages would not let us read them.
All ten platforms have a dedicated electrical page, and what each one puts on the phone differs (their electrical pages, read September 7, 2026). Workiz ships electrical estimate templates, a price book and an electrical inventory page. QuoteIQ builds tiered electrical estimates and tracks wire and components as inventory. Housecall Pro offers electrical contract and flat-rate pricing templates. Service Fusion pre-populates line items on estimates. ServiceTitan covers residential, commercial and construction electrical with separate estimating, flat-rate and dispatch pages. ServiceBox reads commercial: construction and upgrade projects with job costing. The electrical estimating guide has the pricebook detail, and the job management guide covers multi-day projects and dispatch.
For a contractor buying for a crew, the first question is how many techs get the app, and the answer moves the price more than any feature does. QuoteIQ says mobile and web access is free on every plan. FieldEdge includes 2, 4 or 6 mobile licenses on its Select, Premier and Elite tiers, with more licenses priced on request. FieldPulse prices field-only seats separately from full seats, so a tech who only needs the app costs less than an office user. On commercial work, ServiceTitan and ServiceBox are the two whose electrical pages are written for construction and project jobs with job costing behind them.
What is the best app for electricians?
For an app that keeps working with no signal, ServiceTitan claims full offline use of every feature, and Workiz and Service Fusion both describe editing offline with changes syncing when the connection returns. ServiceBox publishes exactly what works offline: saved work orders, the schedule and signatures. Housecall Pro lets you view job and scheduling data offline but states that editing offline is not supported. For code lookups and conduit math, you want a separate calculator app, not a field platform.
Which electrician apps work offline?
ServiceTitan says all features of its field app work offline. FieldPulse says the app works uninterrupted without internet. Workiz lets techs update jobs offline and syncs the changes later. Service Fusion lets techs view jobs, edit notes, upload photos and complete tasks offline, with updates syncing when the connection returns. ServiceBox limits offline use to saved work orders, schedule information and signatures. QuoteIQ lists offline capability without detail. Housecall Pro allows viewing job and scheduling data offline but not editing. FieldEdge and Kickserv make no offline claim on the pages we could read.
Is there a free electrician app?
The field platforms compared here are paid subscriptions; their apps come with the plan. Of the ten, QuoteIQ starts at $29.99 a month, Housecall Pro, Jobber, Service Fusion, Kickserv and ServiceBox publish their prices, and ServiceTitan, FieldEdge, FieldPulse and Workiz price through a sales call. Free apps for electricians are mostly code and calculation tools, which are a different product.
What apps do electrical contractors use to run a crew?
A field service platform: a phone app for the techs and an office side for dispatch, estimates and invoicing, sold as one subscription. All ten compared here have an electrical page. For commercial and construction work, ServiceTitan and ServiceBox are the two whose electrical pages are built around projects and job costing.
Does the electrician app come with the software or cost extra?
All ten platforms have a mobile app, but what a seat covers differs. QuoteIQ says mobile and web access is free on every plan. FieldEdge includes 2, 4 or 6 mobile licenses depending on plan, and FieldPulse prices field-only seats separately from full seats. Check how many techs your plan covers before comparing app features.
Don't buy on the feature list. Every vendor sells the app on the same feature list; only some say what it does three floors below grade. The vendors that answer the offline question plainly, ServiceTitan, Workiz, Service Fusion and ServiceBox, are the ones to shortlist, and the vendor that publishes its limit, Housecall Pro, has told you something the others haven't. Before you commit, put the trial app on a phone, walk it into the worst-signal room on your next job, and try to change something.
The Stack Builder scores all ten platforms on your answers, and the electrical invoicing guide covers what happens once the signature is on the screen.
