Electrical Job Management Software
Electrical work splits into two shapes: the service day of scattered calls, and the multi-week project with phases, crews and progress billing. Most platforms handle the first; only four publish anything about the second. Every claim below was checked September 10, 2026 against the vendor's own pages.

Service calls or phased projects: the question that picks your platform
A shop that lives on service calls needs dispatch, mobile work orders and same-day invoicing, and nearly every platform covers that. A shop running panel changeouts across a strip mall or roughing in new construction needs phases, multi-day crew scheduling, milestone billing and per-job costing, and here the field narrows sharply. Decide which shape most of your revenue takes before comparing anything else.
The four platforms with verified multi-day project features
- ServiceBox is the only vendor whose electrical page reads commercial: mobile work orders, phased scheduling with site contacts, technician capacity planning for multi-day assignments, job costing that ties labor, materials and purchasing to the job, and site history down to panel details and circuit notes. Published plans run $75 to $330 a month with a quote-only Enterprise above; the jump from the 2-user Starter to the 6-user Standard plan is the number to check.
- ServiceTitan names multi-day job tracking, project and inventory management, crew management, a drag-and-drop dispatch board and commercial electrical job costing. It's built for shops past ten techs, and pricing is per technician through a sales call.
- FieldPulse covers work orders, dispatch with live technician tracking, and project management with timeline tracking, milestones and resource assignment, with actual hours compared against planned. No public prices; the quote depends on contract length and mixes full-access with cheaper field-only seats.
- Workiz is explicit about project shape: non-consecutive multi-day scheduling, section management, costs, materials and milestone billing. The caveat we keep flagging: its industry pages promote features like the flat-rate pricebook without saying they sit on the Ultimate tier, and it stopped publishing prices in 2026.
Electrical dispatch software for service-first shops
- Jobber dispatches on availability and drive time, tracks work order history per customer, calculates job profitability from labor and materials in real time, and ties progress invoicing to job milestones. Published prices, $29 to $499 a month.
- FieldEdge runs a centralized dispatch board across multiple trucks and teams with GPS tracking and mobile work order updates. Prices come through a demo; the tier matrix is public.
- Housecall Pro covers team assignment and dispatch with vehicle GPS on published tiers, $59 to $329 a month.
- Service Fusion puts all jobs and estimates in one drag-and-drop view and sends job info to the field by text; $208 to $627 a month with unlimited users.
- Kickserv is the budget option: mobile scheduling, GPS progress tracking, geofenced job-site alerts and field edits to orders, $60 a month for five users, with the honest caveat that nothing about it is electrical-specific.
Permits, inspections and change orders: what no vendor claims
Three things an electrical contractor might reasonably expect are missing across the entire market's public claims: not one of the ten platforms claims permit tracking, inspection-status tracking, or a change-order process on any page we verified. QuoteIQ's inspection forms are checklists for reports, not code inspection tracking. If any of the three is a hard requirement, put it on the demo agenda, because no vendor's website commits to it.
Electrical job management software questions
What is the best job management software for electrical contractors?
It depends on the shape of the work. For commercial and phased projects, ServiceBox, ServiceTitan, FieldPulse and Workiz are the four with verified multi-day project features. For service-call shops, Jobber and Housecall Pro publish their prices and cover dispatch and work orders well.
Which electrical job management software tracks job costs?
Job costing is named for electrical by ServiceTitan, Jobber and ServiceBox on the pages we verified. FieldPulse compares actual hours against planned at the project level.
Does any electrical software track permits or inspections?
No. Across all ten platforms, no vendor claims permit tracking or inspection-status tracking on its own pages. If you need it, ask for a demonstration before buying, and get the answer in writing.
What is the best dispatch software for electricians?
For service-call shops, the dispatch claims we verified on the vendors’ electrical pages point to Jobber, which dispatches on availability and drive time; FieldEdge, with a centralized dispatch board across trucks and GPS tracking; Housecall Pro, with team assignment and vehicle GPS on published tiers; and ServiceTitan, with a drag-and-drop dispatch board for larger shops. FieldPulse adds live technician tracking and automated job assignment.
The bottom line on electrical job management software
Commercial shops with phased work should start at ServiceBox for the electrical-literal records, or ServiceTitan past ten techs. Project crews that bill by milestone should make Workiz name its tiers before falling for the feature list. Service-first shops can skip the demos entirely: Jobber and Housecall Pro print their prices and cover the whole service day.
