HVAC Estimating Software
Two products share this name: bid software for estimating commercial ductwork and piping off plans, and the estimating tools inside field service platforms, built for quoting a repair or a system change-out at the kitchen table. This page compares the second kind across ten platforms. Every claim below was checked September 15, 2026 against the vendor's own pages.

Which HVAC estimating software fits your shop
Flat-rate selling, past ten techs
Pricebook Pro names HVAC as a built-for trade and builds good-better-best proposals in one click; it's an add-on to the core platform. Its HVAC page also names Manual J load calculations from a home scan. Pricing through a sales call.
Flat-rate content kept current, prices printed first
Pricing content from Profit Rhino with live updates, good-better-best on replacements, signatures in the app, and a measureQuick integration for diagnostics on the job.
A maintained flat-rate database in the platform
FieldEdge's flat rate runs on Coolfront, Service Fusion's on Profit Rhino, each with 30,000+ repairs. FieldEdge adds good-better-best through Proposal Pro; Service Fusion adds eSign inside the estimate.
Change-out quotes with options, no pricebook subscription
QuoteIQ's AI Estimator quotes from tonnage, SEER and ductwork scope, with tiered packages on every plan. Jobber does good-better-best with Wisetack financing and online approval, but claims no flat-rate pricebook.
HVAC bid software or service estimating: which one you need
If you bid commercial mechanical work off drawings, you need dedicated takeoff software with duct and pipe assemblies and labor units, and nothing in the table below replaces it. That category includes Trimble AutoBid Mechanical, QuoteSoft, FastEST's FastDUCT and FastPIPE, Wendes and McCormick Systems, all priced by quote. Wendes says it plainly on its own page: it's "designed for commercial contractors, not residential service companies". If your estimates happen in a basement or a utility closet, what matters is a priced service catalog, options the homeowner can compare, and a signature before you leave. That's what the field platforms sell.
Where the flat-rate prices in HVAC estimating software come from
A flat-rate pricebook is only as good as the numbers inside it, and the platforms split three ways. Some license content from a pricing company: Housecall Pro and Service Fusion use Profit Rhino, and FieldEdge's flat rate is powered by Coolfront. Some write their own: ServiceTitan's Pricebook Pro fills in a few hundred common services from its own data, and Workiz says Price Book Pro is "built and maintained by HVAC, plumbing, and electrical pros", without saying which plan includes it. FieldPulse and QuoteIQ give you a pricebook you fill yourself. Jobber, Kickserv and ServiceBox claim no flat-rate pricebook at all; ServiceBox has a shared price catalog for services, labor and parts.
Good-better-best, signatures and financing on HVAC estimates
A replacement quote closes on three things: options the homeowner can compare, a way to sign before the truck leaves, and a monthly payment for a five-figure system. "Not claimed" means the vendor's own pages don't state it, and we won't guess.
Manual J and measureQuick: load calculation in HVAC estimating software
Sizing the system is where a replacement quote can go wrong, and only two platforms touch it on their own pages. ServiceTitan's HVAC page says technicians can scan a home, generate Manual J load calculations and review airflow data during the visit; it also offers a free standalone Manual J calculator. Housecall Pro integrates measureQuick, which runs diagnostics and syncs the report back to the job, though its help page doesn't say the results feed the estimate. Housecall Pro's own free load calculator describes itself as a simplified approach, not a full Manual J. The other eight platforms don't claim load calculation, so shops that size systems properly still do it in a separate tool.
HVAC estimating software questions
What software do HVAC contractors use for estimating?
For service and replacement work, estimating lives inside field service platforms such as ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, FieldEdge, Service Fusion and QuoteIQ: priced catalogs, good-better-best proposals and a signature on the spot. For commercial bids off plans, mechanical contractors use dedicated takeoff software such as Trimble AutoBid Mechanical, QuoteSoft, FastEST, Wendes or McCormick Systems.
Which HVAC estimating software includes flat-rate pricing?
Housecall Pro and Service Fusion use Profit Rhino content, FieldEdge uses Coolfront, and ServiceTitan sells Pricebook Pro as an add-on. Workiz has Price Book Pro but its pages do not say which plan includes it. FieldPulse and QuoteIQ provide a pricebook you fill yourself; Jobber, Kickserv and ServiceBox claim no flat-rate pricebook.
Does any HVAC estimating software do Manual J load calculations?
On the vendors’ own pages, only ServiceTitan claims Manual J load calculations during the visit, from a home scan. Housecall Pro integrates measureQuick for diagnostics, and its free load calculator is described by Housecall Pro as a simplified approach, not a full Manual J. No other platform we track claims load calculation.
Which HVAC estimating software offers customer financing in the quote?
Jobber names Wisetack, Workiz names Sunbit and Wisetack, and Service Fusion names Acorn. ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro and FieldPulse offer financing without naming a partner on the pages we checked. FieldEdge, QuoteIQ, Kickserv and ServiceBox make no financing claim there.
The verdict on HVAC estimating software
If you sell flat-rate, the question is who maintains the numbers: Profit Rhino through Housecall Pro or Service Fusion, Coolfront through FieldEdge, or ServiceTitan's own data at add-on prices. If you quote change-outs without a pricebook, QuoteIQ and Jobber get you options and financing for less. And if your estimates start from drawings, buy mechanical takeoff software; no platform here replaces it.
