Switch to it if the jump past five users is what stings. Every extra Jobber user is $29 a month on any tier, so six people on Jobber Core are $174 a month, against $299 for Housecall Pro's MAX. The catch to weigh: no QuickBooks Desktop path.
Housecall Pro Alternatives
Housecall Pro publishes one of the clearest tier maps in our database, which means the reasons to leave are printed right on it: Essentials stops at five users with no published price for a sixth, and maintenance plans sit on the $299 MAX tier. Five platforms worth pricing against it, read from each vendor's own pages on September 5, 2026 (Housecall Pro's pricing rechecked September 15, 2026).

The two printed numbers that push shops off Housecall Pro
- The sixth user. Essentials covers five people for $149 a month on annual billing, and the pricing page shows no price for adding a sixth. The only published way past five is MAX: $299 a month with eight users included, then $35 per additional user. A six-person crew doubles its plan price the day it hires.
- The MAX gate. Recurring Service Plans, the feature that runs maintenance-agreement income, only exists on MAX at $299 a month. If agreements are your business model, that's the real entry price.
What you'd be giving up is also real: confirmed QuickBooks Desktop sync, no long-term contract, and pricebook partners like Profit Rhino and The New Flat Rate. Two of the five below can't match the Desktop part.
The five Housecall Pro alternatives, priced
Switch to it if you want seats bundled instead of billed. QuoteIQ's $149.99 Pro plan includes four users flat, financing up to $30,000 sits inside the quote flow, and the 14-day trial starts self-serve, no sales call.
Switch to it if you want the cheapest multi-seat bill that still syncs with QuickBooks Desktop. $60 a month covers five users, Desktop costs $50 a month on top, and the honest caveat is that it has no trade-specific tooling at all.
Switch to it if your jobs come from Angi, Thumbtack and the phone. Workiz has the deepest lead-source integrations we track, though it stopped publishing prices in 2026 and its trade features sit on the Ultimate tier.
Switch to it if you've outgrown residential tiers and want flat-rate books native on the entry tier. FieldEdge publishes its full tier matrix, keeps QuickBooks Desktop first-class, and prices only through a demo.
Housecall Pro alternatives: frequently asked questions
What is the cheapest Housecall Pro alternative?
For one person, QuoteIQ at $25 a month on annual billing. For a crew, Kickserv covers five users for $60 a month, less than half of what most platforms charge for one or two seats.
Which Housecall Pro alternatives work with QuickBooks Desktop?
FieldEdge syncs with Desktop on every tier, and Kickserv sells the sync as a $50 a month add-on. Jobber and Workiz have no Desktop path, and QuoteIQ does not confirm one, which matters because Housecall Pro itself supports Desktop.
How much does Housecall Pro really cost for a small crew?
Up to five people, Essentials at $149 a month on annual billing covers everyone. The jump comes at six: Housecall Pro shows no extra-user price for Essentials, so the only priced option is MAX at $299 a month with eight users included, then $35 per additional user. The same six people on Jobber Core are $174 a month, before feature differences.
The bottom line on Housecall Pro alternatives
If the jump past five users is the problem, Jobber wins the math but costs you QuickBooks Desktop; Kickserv keeps Desktop and the low bill but brings no trade tooling. If the MAX gate on maintenance plans is the problem, price FieldEdge, where agreements deepen by tier instead of vanishing below one. And if neither number actually hurts yet, staying put is a fine answer: transparency like Housecall Pro's is rare in this market.
